GOLDEN HARVEST CHILDREN REHABILITATION CENTRE
(IN-PATIENT TREATMENT CENTRE)
CHILDREN REHABILITATION CENTRE
In-Patient drug abuse rehabilitation in South Africa is still a luxury that many citizens can hardly afford, yet the problem is escalating beyond control. Many families affected by this significant problem have a severe challenge of finding funds to send their loved ones for rehabilitation, let alone if they will find a facility readily available.
To assist the country in coping with this challenge, the organisation, in partnership with Johannesburg City Council and Gauteng Provincial Government, officially launched the Golden Harvest Youth Rehabilitation Centre, Northwold Randburg. This centre currently caters for 70 teenage boys and girls aged 10 and 17.
About us
Golden Harvest Rehabilitation Centre is a residential facility for children between the ages of 10 and 17 years old referred for substance use disorders. This facility which caters for 70 children was established as a result of growing substance use amongst children. This came as a result of the partnership between the City of Johannesburg (which built the centre), Gauteng Provincial Government (which fund the programme) and SANCA Central Rand (which specialises in treatment of substance abuse).
Who is it for?
This facility is strictly for children and is registered both in terms of Prevention for and Treatment of Substance Act 70 of 2008 as well as Children Act 38 of 2005.
